고전4:1~21

4:1 사람이 마땅히 우리를 그리스도의 일꾼이요 하나님의 비밀을 맡은 자로 여길지어다  

4:2 그리고 맡은 자들에게 구할 것은 충성이니라  

4:3 너희에게나 다른 사람에게나 판단 받는 것이 내게는 매우 작은 일이라 나도 나를 판단하지 아니하노니  

4:4 내가 자책할 아무 것도 깨닫지 못하나 이로 말미암아 의롭다 함을 얻지 못하노라 다만 나를 심판하실 이는 주시니라  

4:5 그러므로 때가 이르기 전 곧 주께서 오시기까지 아무 것도 판단하지 말라 그가 어둠에 감추인 것들을 드러내고 마음의 뜻을 나타내시리니 그 때에 각 사람에게 하나님으로부터 칭찬이 있으리라  

4:6 형제들아 내가 너희를 위하여 이 일에 나와 아볼로를 들어서 본을 보였으니 이는 너희로 하여금 기록된 말씀 밖으로 넘어가지 말라 한 것을 우리에게서 배워 서로 대적하여 교만한 마음을 가지지 말게 하려 함이라  

4:7 누가 너를 남달리 구별하였느냐 네게 있는 것 중에 받지 아니한 것이 무엇이냐 네가 받았은즉 어찌하여 받지 아니한 것 같이 자랑하느냐  

4:8 너희가 이미 배 부르며 이미 풍성하며 우리 없이도 왕이 되었도다 우리가 너희와 함께 왕 노릇 하기 위하여 참으로 너희가 왕이 되기를 원하노라  

4:9 내가 생각하건대 하나님이 사도인 우리를 죽이기로 작정된 자 같이 끄트머리에 두셨으매 우리는 세계 곧 천사와 사람에게 구경거리가 되었노라  

4:10 우리는 그리스도 때문에 어리석으나 너희는 그리스도 안에서 지혜롭고 우리는 약하나 너희는 강하고 너희는 존귀하나 우리는 비천하여  

4:11 바로 이 시각까지 우리가 주리고 목마르며 헐벗고 매맞으며 정처가 없고  

4:12 또 수고하여 친히 손으로 일을 하며 모욕을 당한즉 축복하고 박해를 받은즉 참고  

4:13 비방을 받은즉 권면하니 우리가 지금까지 세상의 더러운 것과 만물의 찌꺼기 같이 되었도다  

4:14 내가 너희를 부끄럽게 하려고 이것을 쓰는 것이 아니라 오직 너희를 내 사랑하는 자녀 같이 권하려 하는 것이라  

4:15 그리스도 안에서 일만 스승이 있으되 아버지는 많지 아니하니 그리스도 예수 안에서 내가 복음으로써 너희를 낳았음이라  

4:16 그러므로 내가 너희에게 권하노니 너희는 나를 본받는 자가 되라  

4:17 이로 말미암아 내가 주 안에서 내 사랑하고 신실한 아들 디모데를 너희에게 보내었으니 그가 너희로 하여금 그리스도 예수 안에서 나의 행사 곧 내가 각처 각 교회에서 가르치는 것을 생각나게 하리라  

4:18 어떤 이들은 내가 너희에게 나아가지 아니할 것 같이 스스로 교만하여졌으나  

4:19 주께서 허락하시면 내가 너희에게 속히 나아가서 교만한 자들의 말이 아니라 오직 그 능력을 알아보겠으니  

4:20 하나님의 나라는 말에 있지 아니하고 오직 능력에 있음이라  

4:21 너희가 무엇을 원하느냐 내가 매를 가지고 너희에게 나아가랴 사랑과 온유한 마음으로 나아가랴 

NIV

4:1 So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.

4:2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

4:3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.

4:4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.

4:6 Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.

4:7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

4:8 Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have become kings--and that without us! How I wish that you really had become kings so that we might be kings with you!

4:9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.

4:10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!

4:11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.

4:12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

4:13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.

4:14 I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children.

4:15 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

4:16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.

4:17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

4:18 Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.

4:19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.

4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

4:21 What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit? 

1. 잠언이란

1) 명칭

잠언이란 단어의 한자의 뜻은 '경계의 말씀'이다.

히브리어 '마샬'

'마샬'에서 유래하는데 그 뜻은 '비교'라는 의미이다.

즉 잠언이란 비교를 통해서 무엇이 진리인지를 가르쳐주는 경계의 말씀,

즉 격언이나 속담을 말한다.

2) 구조 및 내용

대략적으로 분류하면 젊은이를 위한 권고(1~10장), 모든 사람을 위한 권고(11~20장), 그리고 왕과 통치자를 위한 권고(21~31장)로 구분할 수 있으며, 그 내용을 살펴보면 다음과 같다.

2. 잠언 (장별) 구조

1) 젊은이를 위한 권고 (1~10장)

여호와를 경외하는 것이 지식의 근본이다 (1:7), 지혜는 선한 길로 인도한다(2:20), 범사에 하나님을 인정하면 인생길을 지도하신다(3:6), 마음을 지키는 것이 생명의 근원이 된다(4:23), 음녀를 멀리하고(5:8) 젊어서 취한 아내를 즐거워하라(5:18), 게으른 자는 개미에게서 지혜를 배우고(6:6), 여호와께서 미워하시는 것을 피하라(6:16~19), 음녀를 조심하라(7:15~27), 여호와를 경외하는 것은 악을 미워하는 것이다(8:13), 여호와를 경외하는 것이 지혜의 근본이다(9:10) , 입술을 제어하는 자가 지혜가 있다(10:19)

2) 모든 사람을 위한 권고(11~20장)

지나치게 아끼면 가난하게 되지만 구제를 좋아하는 자는 풍족해진다(11:24~25), 지혜로운 자는 권고를 듣는다(12:15), 의인은 거짓말을 미워한다(13:5), 여호와를 경외하는 것은 생명샘이라(14:27), 가난한 자를 불쌍히 여기는 자는 주를 존경하는 자이다(14:31), 유순한 대답은 분노를 쉬게 한다(15:1), 악인의 제사는 여호와께서 미워하셔도 정직한 자의 기도는 기뻐하신다(15:8), 여호와께 맡기면 경영하는 것이 이루어진다(16:3), 교만은 패망의 선봉이다(16:18), 가난한 집에 살지만 화목한 것이 부유한 집에 살면서 다투는 것보다 낫다(17:1), 교만은 멸망의 선봉이요 겸손은 존귀의 앞잡이다(18:12), 제비뽑는 것은 다툼을 그치게 한다(18:18) 많은 친구나 형제보다 친밀한 친구를 사귀라(19:17), 여호와를 경외하는 것은 사람으로 생명에 이르게 한다(19:23), 술은 사람으로 거만하고 떠들게 만든다(20:1), 한결같지 않은 저울추와 말은 여호와께서 미워하신다.(20:10,23)

3) 왕과 통치자를 위한 권고 (21~31장)

여호와께서는 제사드리는 것보다 의와 공평을 행하는 것을 더 기뻐하신다(21:3), 입과 혀를 지키는 자는 그 영혼이 환난에서 보전된다(21:23), 많은 재물보다 명예를 택하라(22:1), 자기 사업에 근실한 자는 왕 앞에 선다(22:29), 해로운 술을 멀리 하라(23:31~35), 악인의 형통을 부러워하지 말라(24:1), 인생에서 승리하기 원하면 모사의 지혜에 귀 기울이라(24:6), 여호와와 왕을 경외하고 반역자로 더불어 사귀지 말라(24:21), 경우에 합당한 말은 아로새긴 은쟁반에 금사과니라(25:11), 배고파하는 원수에게 식물을 주는 것은 그 머리에 핀 숯을 놓는 것이요, 여호와께 상 받을 일이다(25:21~22), 다투는 여인과 함께 큰 집에 사는 것보다는 움막에서 혼자 사는 것이 낫다(25:24), 나무가 다하면 불이 꺼지고 말장이가 없어지면 다툼이 사라진다(26:20), 내일 일을 자랑하지 말라(27:1), 사람이 율법에서 귀를 돌이키고 듣지 않으면 그 기도도 가증하다(28:9), 탐욕을 버리면 장수한다(28:16), 탐심을 가진 자는 다툼을 일으키지만 여호와를 의자하는 자는 풍족하게 된다.(28:25), 가난한 자를 구제하는 자는 궁핍하지 않지만 못 본체하는 자에게는 저주가 임한다(28:27), 공의를 구하면 나라가 견고케 되지만 뇌물을 탐하면 나라가 망한다(29:4), 사람을 두려워하면 올무에 걸리게 되지만 여호와를 의지하면 안전하다(29:25), 허탄과 거짓말을 멀리하고 필요한 양식을 구하는 것이 하나님께 영광 돌리는 길이다(30:7~9), 여자와 술을 멀리하고 공의로 재판하라(31:3~9), 현숙한 여인은 진주보다 더 귀하다(31:10), 여호와를 경외하는 여자는 칭찬을 받는다(31:30)

3. 결론

세상 살아가는 지혜의 소중함을 강조하면서, 궁극적으로 여호와 하나님을 경외하는 것이야말로 참된 지혜요, 최고의 지혜임을 강조하고 있다. 그렇다면 '여호와를 경외한다'는 것은 구체적으로 무엇을 의미할까? 그것은 단순히 하나님께 대한 두려움을 뜻하는 것이 아니다. 그것은 삶의 모든 영역 속에서 하나님의 전능하심과 절대주권을 인정하기에 그분을 두려워 하지만, 우리의 하나님 아버지는 좋으신 아버지 되심을 믿기에 전적으로 의뢰하며 그 말씀에 철저히 순종하며 기쁨으로 살아가는 삶을 의미한다.

4. 적용

인간은 누구나 지혜로운 삶을 살며 부자가 되길 원한다. 그러면 참된 지혜와 부는 어디서 오는가? 그것은 철학서적을 많이 읽거나 인생의 삶 가운데서 경험을 많이 했다고 얻어지는 것이 아니다. 오직 여호와 하나님을 경외하는데서 오는 것이다. 오직 여호와를 경외함으로 참된 지혜를 얻고, 참된 지혜를 소유한 자에게 주어지는 생명(10:27, 14:27)과 풍족함(19:23, 22:4) 그리고 마음의 평안(15:16)의 복을 받아 누릴 수 있게 된다. 

1:1 

The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai:

1:2 

"Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, 

because its wickedness has come up before me."

1:3 

But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. 

He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. 

After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.

1:4 

Then the LORD sent a great wind on the sea, 

and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.

1:5 

All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. 

And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. 

But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.

1:6 

The captain went to him and said, 

"How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! 

Maybe he will take notice of us, and we will not perish."

1:7 

Then the sailors said to each other, 

"Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity." 

They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.

1:8

So they asked him,

"Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us?

What do you do? Where do you come from? 

What is your country? From what people are you?"

1:9 

He answered, "I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD, 

the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land."

1:10 

This terrified them and they asked, "What have you done?"

 (They knew he was running away from the LORD, 

because he had already told them so.)

1:11 

The sea was getting rougher and rougher. 

So they asked him, 

"What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?"

1:12 

"Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he replied,

 "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that 

this great storm has come upon you."

1:13 

Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. 

But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before.

1:14 

Then they cried to the LORD, 

"O LORD, please do not let us die for taking this man's life. 

Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, 

O LORD, have done as you pleased."

1:15 

Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, 

and the raging sea grew calm.

1:16 

At this the men greatly feared the LORD, 

and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows to him.

1:17 

But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah,

and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights. 

왕하5:1~16

5:1 아람 왕의 군대 장관 나아만은 그의 주인 앞에서 크고 존귀한 자니 이는 여호와께서 전에 그에게 아람을 

구원하게 하셨음이라 그는 큰 용사이나 나병환자더라  

5:2 전에 아람 사람이 떼를 지어 나가서 이스라엘 땅에서 어린 소녀 하나를 사로잡으매 그가 나아만의 아내에게 

수종들더니  

5:3 그의 여주인에게 이르되 우리 주인이 사마리아에 계신 선지자 앞에 계셨으면 좋겠나이다 그가 그 나병을 

고치리이다 하는지라  

5:4 나아만이 들어가서 그의 주인께 아뢰어 이르되 이스라엘 땅에서 온 소녀의 말이 이러이러하더이다 하니  

5:5 아람 왕이 이르되 갈지어다 이제 내가 이스라엘 왕에게 글을 보내리라 하더라 나아만이 곧 떠날새 

은 십 달란트와 금 육천 개와 의복 열 벌을 가지고 가서  

5:6 이스라엘 왕에게 그 글을 전하니 일렀으되 내가 내 신하 나아만을 당신에게 보내오니 이 글이 당신에게 

이르거든 당신은 그의 나병을 고쳐 주소서 하였더라  

5:7 이스라엘 왕이 그 글을 읽고 자기 옷을 찢으며 이르되 내가 사람을 죽이고 살리는 하나님이냐 그가 어찌하여 

사람을 내게로 보내 그의 나병을 고치라 하느냐 너희는 깊이 생각하고 저 왕이 틈을 타서 나와 더불어 시비하려 

함인줄 알라 하니라  

5:8 하나님의 사람 엘리사가 이스라엘 왕이 자기의 옷을 찢었다 함을 듣고 왕에게 보내 이르되 왕이 어찌하여 

옷을 찢었나이까 그 사람을 내게로 오게 하소서 그가 이스라엘 중에 선지자가 있는 줄을 알리이다 하니라  

5:9 나아만이 이에 말들과 병거들을 거느리고 이르러 엘리사의 집 문에 서니  

5:10 엘리사가 사자를 그에게 보내 이르되 너는 가서 요단 강에 몸을 일곱 번 씻으라 네 살이 회복되어 깨끗하리라 하는지라  

5:11 나아만이 노하여 물러가며 이르되 내 생각에는 그가 내게로 나와 서서 그의 하나님 여호와의 이름을 부르고 

그의 손을 그 부위 위에 흔들어 나병을 고칠까 하였도다  

5:12 다메섹 강 아바나와 바르발은 이스라엘 모든 강물보다 낫지 아니하냐 내가 거기서 몸을 씻으면 깨끗하게 

되지 아니하랴 하고 몸을 돌려 분노하여 떠나니 

5:13 그의 종들이 나아와서 말하여 이르되 내 아버지여 선지자가 당신에게 큰 일을 행하라 말하였더면 행하지 

아니하였으리이까 하물며 당신에게 이르기를 씻어 깨끗하게 하라 함이리이까 하니  

5:14 나아만이 이에 내려가서 하나님의 사람의 말대로 요단 강에 일곱 번 몸을 잠그니 그의 살이 어린 아이의 살 

같이 회복되어 깨끗하게 되었더라 

5:15 나아만이 모든 군대와 함께 하나님의 사람에게로 도로 와서 그의 앞에 서서 이르되 내가 이제 이스라엘 

외에는 온 천하에 신이 없는 줄을 아나이다 청하건대 당신의 종에게서 예물을 받으소서 하니  

5:16 이르되 내가 섬기는 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 내가 그 앞에서 받지 아니하리라 하였더라 

나아만이 받으라고 강권하되 그가 거절하니라  

5:1 Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man 

in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the LORD had given 

victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy.

5:2 Now bands from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, 

and she served Naaman's wife.

5:3 She said to her mistress, "If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! 

He would cure him of his leprosy."

5:4 Naaman went to his master and told him what the girl from Israel had said.

5:5 "By all means, go," the king of Aram replied. "I will send a letter to the king of Israel." 

So Naaman left, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and 

ten sets of clothing.

5:6 The letter that he took to the king of Israel read: "With this letter I am sending my servant 

Naaman to you so that you may cure him of his leprosy."

5:7 As soon as the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his robes and said, "Am I God? 

Can I kill and bring back to life? Why does this fellow send someone to me to be cured of 

his leprosy? See how he is trying to pick a quarrel with me!"

5:8 When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him 

this message: "Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know 

that there is a prophet in Israel."

5:9 So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha's house.

5:10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, "Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, 

and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed."

5:11 But Naaman went away angry and said, "I thought that he would surely come out to me 

and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me 

of my leprosy.

5:12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than any of the waters of Israel? 

Couldn't I wash in them and be cleansed?" So he turned and went off in a rage.

5:13 Naaman's servants went to him and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do some 

great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, 'Wash and 

be cleansed'!"

5:14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told 

him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

5:15 Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and 

said, "Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. Please accept now a gift 

from your servant."

5:16 The prophet answered, "As surely as the LORD lives, whom I serve, I will not accept a thing." And even though Naaman urged him, he refused.

마13:47~51

13:47 또 천국은 마치 바다에 치고 각종 물고기를 모는 그물과 같으니  

13:48 그물에 가득하매 물 가로 끌어 내고 앉아서 좋은 것은 그릇에 담고 못된 것은 내버리느니라  

13:49 세상 끝에도 이러하리라 천사들이 와서 의인 중에서 악인을 갈라 내어  

13:50 풀무 불에 던져 넣으리니 거기서 울며 이를 갈리라  

13:51 이 모든 것을 깨달았느냐 하시니 대답하되 그러하오이다 

13:47 "Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.

13:48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.

13:49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous

13:50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13:51 "Have you understood all these things?" Jesus asked. "Yes," they replied.

말씀선포 ㅣ 막4장 1~9절

4:1 예수께서 다시 바닷가에서 가르치시니 큰 무리가 모여들거늘 예수께서 바다에 떠 있는 배에 올라 앉으시고 온 무리는 바닷가 육지에 있더라  

4:2 이에 예수께서 여러 가지를 비유로 가르치시니 그 가르치시는 중에 그들에게 이르시되  

4:3 들으라 씨를 뿌리는 자가 뿌리러 나가서  

4:4 뿌릴새 더러는 길 가에 떨어지매 새들이 와서 먹어 버렸고  

4:5 더러는 흙이 얕은 돌밭에 떨어지매 흙이 깊지 아니하므로 곧 싹이 나오나  

4:6 해가 돋은 후에 타서 뿌리가 없으므로 말랐고  

4:7 더러는 가시떨기에 떨어지매 가시가 자라 기운을 막으므로 결실하지 못하였고  

4:8 더러는 좋은 땅에 떨어지매 자라 무성하여 결실하였으니 삼십 배나 육십 배나 백 배가 되었느니라 하시고  

4:9 또 이르시되 들을 귀 있는 자는 들으라 하시니라 

4:1 Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water's edge.

4:2 He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said:

4:3 "Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.

4:4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.

4:5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

4:6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

4:7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.

4:8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times."

4:9 Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
