말씀선포 : 사도행전 16:19~26
19. 여종의 주인들은 자기 수익의 소망이 끊어진 것을 보고 바울과 실라를 붙잡아 장터
로 관리들에게 끌어 갔다가
When the owners of the slave girl realized that their hope of making
money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the
marketplace to face the authorities
20. 상관들 앞에 데리고 가서 말하되 이 사람들이 유대인인데 우리 성을 심히 요란하게
하여
They brought them before the magistrates and said, "These men are
Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar
21. 로마 사람인 우리가 받지도 못하고 행하지도 못할 풍속을 전한다 하거늘
by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice."
22. 무리가 일제히 일어나 고발하니 상관들이 옷을 찢어 벗기고 매로 치라 하여
The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates
ordered them to be stripped and beaten.
23. 많이 친 후에 옥에 가두고 간수에게 명하여 든든히 지키라 하니
After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and
the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.
24. 그가 이러한 명령을 받아 그들을 깊은 옥에 가두고 그 발을 차꼬에 든든히 채웠더니
Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened
their feet in the stocks.
25. 한밤중에 바울과 실라가 기도하고 하나님을 찬송하매 죄수들이 듣더라
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God,
and the other prisoners were listening to them.
26. 이에 갑자기 큰 지진이 나서 옥터가 움직이고 문이 곧 다 열리며 모든 사람의 매인
것이 다 벗어진지라
Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of
the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and
everybody's chains came loose.
