말씀선포 : 사무엘상 17장 40~49절

40 손에 막대기를 가지고 시내에서 매끄러운 돌 다섯을 골라서 자기 목자의 제구 곧 주머니에 넣고 손에 물매를 가지고 블레셋 사람에게로 나아가니라 
Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd's bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

41 블레셋 사람이 방패 든 사람을 앞세우고 다윗에게로 점점 가까이 나아가니라 
Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David.

42 그 블레셋 사람이 둘러보다가 다윗을 보고 업신여기니 이는 그가 젊고 붉고 용모가 아름다움이라  
He looked David over and saw that he was only a boy, ruddy and handsome, and he despised him.

43 블레셋 사람이 다윗에게 이르되 네가 나를 개로 여기고 막대기를 가지고 내게 나아왔느냐 하고 그의 신들의 이름으로 다윗을 저주하고 
He said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

44 그 블레셋 사람이 또 다윗에게 이르되 내게로 오라 내가 네 살을 공중의 새들과 들짐승들에게 주리라 하는지라 
"Come here," he said, "and I'll give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!"

45 다윗이 블레셋 사람에게 이르되 너는 칼과 창과 단창으로 내게 나아 오거니와 나는 만군의 여호와의 이름 곧 네가 모욕하는 이스라엘 군대의 하나님의 이름으로 네게 나아가노라 
David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

46 오늘 여호와께서 너를 내 손에 넘기시리니 내가 너를 쳐서 네 목을 베고 블레셋 군대의 시체를 오늘 공중의 새와 땅의 들짐승에게 주어 온 땅으로 이스라엘에 하나님이 계신 줄 알게 하겠고 
This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

47 또 여호와의 구원하심이 칼과 창에 있지 아니함을 이 무리에게 알게 하리라 전쟁은 여호와께 속한 것인즉 그가 너희를 우리 손에 넘기시리라  
All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give all of you into our hands."

48 블레셋 사람이 일어나 다윗에게로 마주 가까이 올 때에 다윗이 블레셋 사람을 향하여 빨리 달리며 
As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.

49 손을 주머니에 넣어 돌을 가지고 물매로 던져 블레셋 사람의 이마를 치매 돌이 그의 이마에 박히니 땅에 엎드러지니라
Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

말씀선포 : 민수기 13장 25~33절

25 사십 일 동안 땅을 정탐하기를 마치고 돌아와 
At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.

26 바란 광야 가데스에 이르러 모세와 아론과 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중에게 나아와 그들에게 보고하고 그 땅의 과일을 보이고
They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. 

27 모세에게 말하여 이르되 당신이 우리를 보낸 땅에 간즉 과연 그 땅에 젖과 꿀이 흐르는데 이것은 그 땅의 과일이니이다 
They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit.

28 그러나 그 땅 거주민은 강하고 성읍은 견고하고 심히 클 뿐 아니라 거기서 아낙 자손을 보았으며 
But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.

29 아말렉인은 남방 땅에 거주하고 헷인과 여부스인과 아모리인은 산지에 거주하고 가나안인은 해변과 요단 가에 거주하더이다
The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan."

30 갈렙이 모세 앞에서 백성을 조용하게 하고 이르되 우리가 곧 올라가서 그 땅을 취하자 능히 이기리라 하나 
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."

31 그와 함께 올라갔던 사람들은 이르되 우리는 능히 올라가서 그 백성을 치지 못하리라 그들은 우리보다 강하니라 하고 
But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are."

32 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 그 정탐한 땅을 악평하여 이르되 우리가 두루 다니며 정탐한 땅은 그 거주민을 삼키는 땅이요 거기서 본 모든 백성은 신장이 장대한 자들이며 
And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size

33 거기서 네피림 후손인 아낙 자손의 거인들을 보았나니 우리는 스스로 보기에도 메뚜기 같으니 그들이 보기에도 그와 같았을 것이니라 
We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

말씀선포 : 신명기 12장 7절

7. 거기 곧 너희의 하나님 여호와 앞에서 먹고 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 너희의 손으로 수고한 일에 복 주심으로 말미암아 너희와 너희의 가족이 즐거워할지니라

There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you.

말씀선포 : 히브리서 6장 13~20절

6:13 하나님이 아브라함에게 약속하실 때에 가리켜 맹세할 자가 자기보다 더 큰 이가 없으므로 자기를 가리켜 맹세하여 
When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,

6:14 이르시되 내가 반드시 너에게 복 주고 복 주며 너를 번성하게 하고 번성하게 하리라 하셨더니 
saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants."

6:15 그가 이같이 오래 참아 약속을 받았느니라  
And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised

6:16 사람들은 자기보다 더 큰 자를 가리켜 맹세하나니 맹세는 그들이 다투는 모든 일의 최후 확정이니라 
Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.

6:17 하나님은 약속을 기업으로 받는 자들에게 그 뜻이 변하지 아니함을 충분히 나타내시려고 그 일을 맹세로 보증하셨나니 
Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.

6:18 이는 하나님이 거짓말을 하실 수 없는 이 두 가지 변하지 못할 사실로 말미암아 앞에 있는 소망을 얻으려고 피난처를 찾은 우리에게 큰 안위를 받게 하려 하심이라 
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.

6:19 우리가 이 소망을 가지고 있는 것은 영혼의 닻 같아서 튼튼하고 견고하여 휘장 안에 들어 가나니 
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

6:20 그리로 앞서 가신 예수께서 멜기세덱의 반차를 따라 영원히 대제사장이 되어 우리를 위하여 들어 가셨느니라
where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
