말씀선포 : 이사야 38장 1~8절

1 그 때에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되니 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 나아가 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 너는 네 집에 유언하라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다 하니  
In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."

2 히스기야가 얼굴을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기도하여  
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,

3 이르되 여호와여 구하오니 내가 주 앞에서 진실과 전심으로 행하며 주의 목전에서 선하게 행한 것을 기억하옵소서 하고 히스기야가 심히 통곡하니
 "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. 

4 이에 여호와의 말씀이 이사야에게 임하여 이르시되 
Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah:

5 너는 가서 히스기야에게 이르기를 네 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 네 수한에 십오 년을 더하고  
"Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.

6 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 건져내겠고 내가 또 이 성을 보호하리라 
And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.

7 이는 여호와께로 말미암는 너를 위한 징조이니 곧 여호와께서 하신 말씀을 그가 이루신다는 증거이니라 
'This is the LORD'S sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised:

8 보라 아하스의 해시계에 나아갔던 해 그림자를 뒤로 십 도를 물러가게 하리라 하셨다 하라 하시더니 이에 해시계에 나아갔던 해의 그림자가 십 도를 물러가니라  
I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.'" So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

말씀선포 : 욥 42장 10~17절

10 욥이 그의 친구들을 위하여 기도할 때 여호와께서 욥의 곤경을 돌이키시고 여호와께서 욥에게 이전 모든 소유보다 갑절이나 주신지라
After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before.

11 이에 그의 모든 형제와 자매와 이전에 알던 이들이 다 와서 그의 집에서 그와 함께 음식을 먹고 여호와께서 그에게 내리신 모든 재앙에 관하여 그를 위하여 슬퍼하며 위로하고 각각 케쉬타 하나씩과 금 고리 하나씩을 주었더라
All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the LORD had brought upon him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.

12 여호와께서 욥의 말년에 욥에게 처음보다 더 복을 주시니 그가 양 만 사천과 낙타 육천과 소 천 겨리와 암나귀 천을 두었고
The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.

13 또 아들 일곱과 딸 셋을 두었으며
And he also had seven sons and three daughters.

14 그가 첫째 딸은 여미마라 이름하였고 둘째 딸은 긋시아라 이름하였고 셋째 딸은 게렌합북이라 이름하였으니 
The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch.

15 모든 땅에서 욥의 딸들처럼 아리따운 여자가 없었더라 그들의 아버지가 그들에게 그들의 오라비들처럼 기업을 주었더라 
Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job's daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.

16 그 후에 욥이 백사십 년을 살며 아들과 손자 사 대를 보았고 
After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.

17 욥이 늙어 나이가 차서 죽었더라
And so he died, old and full of years.

말씀선포 : 욥 2장 1~6절

2:1 또 하루는 하나님의 아들들이 와서 여호와 앞에 서고 사탄도 그들 가운데에 와서 여호와 앞에 서니 
On another day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.

2:2 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 네가 어디서 왔느냐 사탄이 여호와께 대답하여 이르되 땅을 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다 
And the LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."

2:3 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 네가 내 종 욥을 주의하여 보았느냐 그와 같이 온전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자가 세상에 없느니라 네가 나를 충동하여 까닭 없이 그를 치게 하였어도 그가 여전히 자기의 온전함을 굳게 지켰느니라 
Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason."

2:4 사탄이 여호와께 대답하여 이르되 가죽으로 가죽을 바꾸오니 사람이 그의 모든 소유물로 자기의 생명을 바꾸올지라 
"Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man will give all he has for his own life.

2:5 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 뼈와 살을 치소서 그리하시면 틀림없이 주를 향하여 욕하지 않겠나이까 
But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face."

2:6 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 내가 그를 네 손에 맡기노라 다만 그의 생명은 해하지 말지니라
The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life."
