말씀선포 : 사무엘상 30장 7~25절

7. 다윗이 아히멜렉의 아들 제사장 아비아달에게 이르되 원하건대 에봇을 내게로 가져
    오라 아비아달이 에봇을 다윗에게로 가져가매
    Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Bring me
    the  ephod." Abiathar brought it to him

8. 다윗이 여호와께 묻자와 이르되 내가 이 군대를 추격하면 따라잡겠나이까 하니 여호
    와 께서 그에게 대답하시되 그를 쫓아가라 네가 반드시 따라잡고 도로 찾으리라
    and David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I pursue this raiding party?
    Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly
    overtake them and succeed in the rescue."

9. 이에 다윗과 또 그와 함께 한 육백 명이 가서 브솔 시내에 이르러 뒤떨어진 자를 거기
    머물게 했으되
    David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, 
    where some stayed behind,

10. 곧 피곤하여 브솔 시내를 건너지 못하는 이백 명을 머물게 했고 다윗은 사백 명을
      거느리고 쫓아가니라
      for two hundred men were too exhausted to cross the ravine. But
      David and four hundred men continued the pursuit

11. 무리가 들에서 애굽 사람 하나를 만나 그를 다윗에게로 데려다가 떡을 주어 먹게
      하며 물을 마시게 하고
      They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David.
      They gave him water to drink and food to eat-

12. 그에게 무화과 뭉치에서 뗀 덩이 하나와 건포도 두 송이를 주었으니 그가 밤낮
     사흘 동안 떡도 먹지 못하였고 물도 마시지 못하였음이니라 그가 먹고 정신을 차리매
     part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was
     revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days
     and three nights.

13. 다윗이 그에게 이르되 너는 누구에게 속하였으며 어디에서 왔느냐 하니 그가 이르되 
     나는 애굽 소년이요 아말렉 사람의 종이더니 사흘 전에 병이 들매 주인이 나를 버렸
     나이다
     David asked him, "To whom do you belong, and where do you come from?"
     He said, "I am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite.
     My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago.

14. 우리가 그렛 사람의 남방과 유다에 속한 지방과 갈렙 남방을 침노하고 시글락을
      불살랐나이다
      We raided the Negev of the Kerethites and the territory belonging to
      Judah and the Negev of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag."

15. 다윗이 그에게 이르되 네가 나를 그 군대로 인도하겠느냐 하니 그가 이르되 당신이
     나를 죽이지도 아니하고 내 주인의 수중에 넘기지도 아니하겠다고 하나님의 이름
     으로 내게  맹세하소서 그리하면 내가 당신을 그 군대로 인도하리이다 하니라
     David asked him, "Can you lead me down to this raiding party?"
     He answered, "Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or
     hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them."

16. 그가 다윗을 인도하여 내려가니 그들이 온 땅에 편만하여 블레셋 사람들의 땅과
     유다 땅에서 크게 약탈하였음으로 말미암아 먹고 마시며 춤추는지라
     He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside,
     eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder
     they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

17. 다윗이 새벽부터 이튿날 저물 때까지 그들을 치매 낙타를 타고 도망한 소년 사백 명
      외에는 피한 사람이 없었더라
      David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and
      none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off
      on camels and fled.

18. 다윗이 아말렉 사람들이 빼앗아 갔던 모든 것을 도로 찾고 그의 두 아내를 구원
      하였고
      David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two
      wives.

19. 그들이 약탈하였던 것 곧 무리의 자녀들이나 빼앗겼던 것은 크고 작은 것을 막론
      하고 아무것도 잃은 것이 없이 모두 다윗이 도로 찾아왔고
      Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else
      they had taken. David brought everything back

20. 다윗이 또 양 떼와 소 떼를 다 되찾았더니 무리가 그 가축들을 앞에 몰고 가며 이르되
     이는 다윗의 전리품이라 하였더라
      He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the
      other livestock, saying, "This is David's plunder."

21. 다윗이 전에 피곤하여 능히 자기를 따르지 못하므로 브솔 시내에 머물게 한 이백 명
     에게 오매 그들이 다윗과 그와 함께 한 백성을 영접하러 나오는지라 다윗이 그 백성
     에게 이르러 문안하매
     Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to
     follow him and who were left behind at the Besor Ravine. They came out
     to meet David and the people with him. As David and his men approached,
     he greeted them

22. 다윗과 함께 갔던 자들 가운데 악한 자와 불량배들이 다 이르되 그들이 우리와 함께
      가지 아니하였은즉 우리가 도로 찾은 물건은 무엇이든지 그들에게 주지 말고 각자
      의 처자만 데리고 떠나가게 하라 하는지라
      But all the evil men and troublemakers among David's followers said,
      "Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the
      plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and
      children and go."

23. 다윗이 이르되 나의 형제들아 여호와께서 우리를 보호하시고 우리를 치러 온 그
     군대를 우리 손에 넘기셨은즉 그가 우리에게 주신 것을 너희가 이같이 못하리라
     David replied, "No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the
     LORD has given us. He has protected us and handed over to us the
     forces that came against us.

24. 이 일에 누가 너희에게 듣겠느냐 전장에 내려갔던 자의 분깃이나 소유물 곁에 머물
      렀던 자의 분깃이 동일할지니 같이 분배할 것이니라 하고
      Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with
      the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle.
      All will share alike."

25. 그 날부터 다윗이 이것으로 이스라엘의 율례와 규례를 삼았더니 오늘까지 이르니라
      David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this

말씀선포 : 고린도전서 9장 24~27절

24. 운동장에서 달음질하는 자들이 다 달릴지라도 오직 상을 받는 사람은 한 사람인
      줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 너희도 상을 받도록 이와 같이 달음질하라 
      Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets
      the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

25. 이기기를 다투는 자마다 모든 일에 절제하나니 그들은 썩을 승리자의 관을 얻고자
      하되 우리는 썩지 아니할 것을 얻고자 하노라
      Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it
      to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last
      forever.

26. 그러므로 나는 달음질하기를 향방 없는 것 같이 아니하고 싸우기를 허공을 치는 것
      같이 아니하며
      Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like
      a man beating the air.

27. 내가 내 몸을 쳐 복종하게 함은 내가 남에게 전파한 후에 자신이 도리어 버림을
      당할까 두려워함이로다
      No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to
      others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

말씀선포 : 전도서 5장 18~20절

18. 사람이 하나님께서 그에게 주신 바 그 일평생에 먹고 마시며 해 아래에서 하는
     모든 수고 중에서 낙을 보는 것이 선하고 아름다움을 내가 보았나니 그것이 그의
     몫이로다
     Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, 
      and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the
      few days of life God has given him--for this is his lot.

19. 또한 어떤 사람에게든지 하나님이 재물과 부요를 그에게 주사 능히 누리게
     하시며 제 몫을 받아 수고함으로 즐거워하게 하신 것은 하나님의 선물이라
     Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables
     him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work-
     -this is a gift of God.

20. 그는 자기의 생명의 날을 깊이 생각하지 아니하리니 이는 하나님이 그의 마음에
      기뻐하는 것으로 응답하심이니라
      He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him
      occupied with gladness of heart.

말씀선포 : 마태복음 11장 28~30절

28. 수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라
     "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and
       I will give you rest.

29. 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그리하면
      너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니
      Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and
      humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30. 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라
      For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

말씀선포 : 고린도후서 7장 5~11절

5 우리가 마게도냐에 이르렀을 때에도 우리 육체가 편하지 못하였고 사방으로 환난을
   당하여 밖으로는 다툼이요 안으로는 두려움이었노라
   For when we came into Macedonia, this body of ours had no rest, but
   we were harassed at every turn conflicts on the outside, fears within

6 그러나 낙심한 자들을 위로하시는 하나님이 디도가 옴으로 우리를 위로하셨으니
   But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus

7 그가 온 것뿐 아니요 오직 그가 너희에게서 받은 그 위로로 위로하고 너희의 사모함
   과 애통함과 나를 위하여 열심 있는 것을 우리에게 보고함으로 나를 더욱 기쁘게
   하였느니라
    and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him.
    He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern
    for me, so that my joy was greater than ever

8 그러므로 내가 편지로 너희를 근심하게 한 것을 후회하였으나 지금은 후회하지 
  아니함은 그 편지가 너희로 잠시만 근심하게 한 줄을 앎이라
   Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it.
   Though I did regret it I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while

9 내가 지금 기뻐함은 너희로 근심하게 한 까닭이 아니요 도리어 너희가 근심함으로
   회개함에 이른 까닭이라 너희가 하나님의 뜻대로 근심하게 된 것은 우리에게서 아무
   해도 받지 않게 하려 함이라
    yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but
    because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful
    as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us

10 하나님의 뜻대로 하는 근심은 후회할 것이 없는 구원에 이르게 하는 회개를 이루는
    것이요 세상 근심은 사망을 이루는 것이니라
    Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret,
    but worldly sorrow brings death.

11 보라 하나님의 뜻대로 하게 된 이 근심이 너희로 얼마나 간절하게 하며 얼마나 변증
    하게 하며 얼마나 분하게 하며 얼마나 두렵게 하며 얼마나 사모하게 하며 얼마나
    열심 있게 하며 얼마나 벌하게 하였는가 너희가 그 일에 대하여 일체 너희 자신의
    깨끗함을 나타내었느니라
     See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness,
     what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm,
     what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done.
     At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter

말씀선포 : 사도행전 16장 6~15절

6. 성령이 아시아에서 말씀을 전하지 못하게 하시거늘 그들이 브루기아와 
   갈라디아 땅으로 다녀가
    Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia
    and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the
    word in the province of Asia.

7. 무시아 앞에 이르러 비두니아로 가고자 애쓰되 예수의 영이 허락하지 
   아니하시는 지라
     When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia,
     but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to

8. 무시아를 지나 드로아로 내려갔는데
     So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.

9. 밤에 환상이 바울에게 보이니 마게도냐 사람 하나가 서서 그에게 청하여 
   이르되 마게도냐로 건너와서 우리를 도우라 하거늘
     During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing
     and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

10. 바울이 그 환상을 보았을 때 우리가 곧 마게도냐로 떠나기를 힘쓰니
     이는 하나님이 저 사람들에게 복음을 전하라고 우리를 부르신 줄로
     인정함이러라
      After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for
      Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to
      them.

11. 우리가 드로아에서 배로 떠나 사모드라게로 직행하여 이튿날 네압볼리로
     가고
      From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and
      the next day on to Neapolis.

12. 거기서 빌립보에 이르니 이는 마게도냐 지방의 첫 성이요 또 로마의
     식민지라 이 성에서 수일을 유하다가
      From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading 
      city of  that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.

13. 안식일에 우리가 기도할 곳이 있을까 하여 문 밖 강가에 나가 거기 앉아서
     모인 여자들에게 말하는데
      On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we
      expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to
      the women who had gathered there.

14. 두아디라 시에 있는 자색 옷감 장사로서 하나님을 섬기는 루디아라 하는
     한 여자가 말을 듣고 있을 때 주께서 그 마음을 열어 바울의 말을 따르게
     하신지라
      One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple
      cloth  from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God.
      The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.

15. 그와 그 집이 다 세례를 받고 우리에게 청하여 이르되 만일 나를 주 믿는
     자로 알거든 내 집에 들어와 유하라 하고 강권하여 머물게 하니라 
      When she and the members of her household were baptized,
      she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord,"
      she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.

말씀선포 : 여호수아 [Joshua] 8장 30~35절

30. 그 때에 여호수아가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 에발 산에 한 제단을 쌓
      았으니
     Then Joshua built on Mount Ebal an altar to the LORD, the God of Israel

31. 이는 여호와의 종 모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 명령한 것과 모세의 율법책에 기록된
      대로 쇠 연장으로 다듬지 아니한 새 돌로 만든 제단이라 무리가 여호와께 번제물과
      화목제물을 그 위에 드렸으며
      as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded the Israelites.
     He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses-
     -an altar of uncut stones, on which no iron tool had been used. On it they
      offered to the LORD burnt offerings and sacrificed fellowship offerings.

32. 여호수아가 거기서 모세가 기록한 율법을 이스라엘 자손의 목전에서 그 돌에 기록
      하매
      There, in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua copied on stones the law
      of Moses, which he had written.

33. 온 이스라엘과 그 장로들과 관리들과 재판장들과 본토인뿐 아니라 이방인까지
     여호와의 언약궤를 멘 레위 사람 제사장들 앞에서 궤의 좌우에 서되 절반은 그리심
     산 앞에, 절반은 에발 산 앞에 섰으니 이는 전에 여호와의 종 모세가 이스라엘 백성
     에게 축복하라고 명령한 대로 함이라
     All Israel, aliens and citizens alike, with their elders, officials and judges,
     were standing on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD,
     facing those who carried it--the priests, who were Levites. Half of the
     people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount
     Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had formerly commanded when
     he gave instructions to bless the people of Israel.

34. 그 후에 여호수아가 율법책에 기록된 모든 것 대로 축복과 저주하는 율법의 모든
      말씀을 낭독하였으니
      Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law--the blessings and the
      curses--just as it is written in the Book of the Law.

35. 모세가 명령한 것은 여호수아가 이스라엘 온 회중과 여자들과 아이와 그들 중에 
     동행하는 거류민들 앞에서 낭독하지 아니한 말이 하나도 없었더라
     There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did
     not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and
     children, and the aliens who lived among them.

말씀선포 : 데살로니가후서 [2 Thessalonians] 2장 13~17절

13. 주께서 사랑하시는 형제들아 우리가 항상 너희에 관하여 마땅히 하나님께 감사
     할 것은 하나님이 처음부터 너희를 택하사 성령의 거룩하게 하심과 진리를 믿음
     으로 구원을 받게 하심이니
     But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the
     Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved
     through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth

14. 이를 위하여 우리의 복음으로 너희를 부르사 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 영광을
     얻게 하려 하심이니라
     He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory
     of our Lord Jesus Christ

15. 그러므로 형제들아 굳건하게 서서 말로나 우리의 편지로 가르침을 받은 전통을
      지키라
      So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on
      to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter

16. 우리 주 예수 그리스도와 우리를 사랑하시고 영원한 위로와 좋은 소망을 은혜로
      주신 하나님 우리 아버지께서
      May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us
      and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope

17. 너희 마음을 위로하시고 모든 선한 일과 말에 굳건하게 하시기를 원하노라
     encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word
